Abstract

The present work shows the partial results of a characterization regarding the application
of the Jidoka philosophy in small and medium textile companies located in the Department of
Cundinamarca. This as part of Lean manufacturing, aims to optimize production processes, through
the autonomization of equipment for the reduction and prevention of failures. This document
demonstrates the degree of application of the main variables associated with the Jidoka philosophy,
among which are the visual indicators, the control of cycle change times, the implementation of
POKA YOKE devices, the total productive maintenance plans, and analysis of the failure mode
and effect.
